Governance Officer (Admin Assistant)

Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire

Salary up to £14,683 per annum

Our client is now looking to recruit a Governance Officer to join them on a permanent basis, part time basis for 18.5 hours per week.

The Governance Officer will provide direct administrative support to their board and its sub-committees and duties will include the organisation of meetings, the preparation and circulation of papers( in both paper and electronic form) and the taking of minutes. Working with the Executive Management Team, you must ensure that systems are in place so that the board and sub-committees receive timely information to able to conduct their business in accordance with their constitutions.

The successful candidate must possess significant administrative experience ideally gained within a large multi-functional organisation. With the ability to prioritise own work load and meet strict deadlines, you will have experience of supporting boards, committees, housing corporation regulations and company house matters and of ideally worked within a social housing environment however this is not essential. Familiar with IT programmes such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint, you will have the ability to take minutes of meetings and set up and maintain filing / document storage and retrieval systems.

Candidates must also be willing to attend meetings outside of working hours (approximately 1 per month) however time off in lieu will be given for this.

Hours of work: 18.5 hours per week, 1.15pm – 5.15pm Monday, 8:45am – 5:15pm Tuesday & Wednesday.
