Web Analyst

Permanent  for Findmypast in Shoreditch, East London

An exciting role has arisen for a web analyst to join us and play a key part in the development of our websites and other products. Working directly with product managers and the senior management team you will be responsible for adding insight to product development decisions and, in partnership with external agencies, finding opportunities to grow and improve in our digital channels. You’ll be able to talk “tech” to the development teams & product managers and commercially to the management team and other stakeholders. You’ll be organised and used to working in a fast paced environment for customers with high expectations and you’ll maintain a high quality of work while under pressure.

Responsibilities:

·Develop and maintain the test and learn plan with the product managers, ensuring that all online tests and analysis are set-up correctly and are statistically robust.

·Work closely with the marketing team & external agencies to analyse web trends and customer behaviour to identify areas of improvement.

·Identify and flag changes in our competitors traffic acquisition strategy, e.g. new channels, shift in spend etc. using tools such as Hitwise.

·Maintain Google Analytics from both a reporting and administration prospective.

·Be the main point of contact across the business for all web analytics queries.

Essential skills and experience:

·2+ years frequent use of Google Analytics including specifying tagging of pages to development teams

·Experience of end-to-end set-up and support for testing in either GA/UA, Qubit or another AB/MVT tool

·All-round technical awareness of websites.

·Advanced Excel skills

·Demonstrable commercial acumen

·Ability to articulate complex issues, simply, for non-technical stakeholders

·Ability to write commentary on website performance for a commercially focused audience

·Ability to prioritise own workloads

·Excellent stakeholder management skills

·Numerate degree or equivalent experience

Desirable skills and experience:

·Hitwise or other competitor analysis tools

·Any SQL syntax
