Salary: L14-18 £53,177-£58,565 inclusive (Starting salary dependant upon skills and experience)

Start date: January 2015

Our client is a non-maintained residential special school, with a limited number of day pupils, for up to 55 young people of both genders aged 5-19.

The School is a centre of expertise in supporting and educating young people who have moderate or severe learning difficulties (MLD/SLD), some profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) or other neurological conditions which may have been caused or complicated by epilepsy, often with associated disabilities.

The Governors of the School seek to appoint a dedicated Head of School to ensure their school provides the best possible education for every child in their care. Following an organisational review, this is a new post which will work in partnership with, and report to, the new Executive Director of Education position to develop and deliver an outstanding education for their students.

The successful candidate will be an experienced Catholic Senior Teacher who:

·is an excellent teaching practitioner and an effective leader committed to collaborative working

·shares their passion about seeing potential in children and helping them to live their lives to the full

·brings a proven record of raising expectations and achievement

This will be a challenging, rewarding and exciting role within a long established large charitable organisation. They already have excellent multi-disciplinary residential care and health support services (graded ‘Outstanding’ in their last three Ofsted inspections).Their primary objective now is to find and appoint a Head of School who, working together with their Director of Education and Head of College, can help continue their journey to achieve a seamless education service for young people with the highest standards teaching and curriculum delivery.
