Our client is a leading International Manufacturer of Plastic Moulded Products with sites throughout the UK and Europe. This successful manufacturing company currently has an opening for a Tooling Engineer.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out regular breakdown servicing and maintenance work of tooling within a designated production area to maximise machine uptime and performance.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:Responsible for carrying out regular breakdown servicing and maintenance work of tooling within a designated production area to maximise machine uptime.Daily completions of problem / countermeasure follow up sheets to allow collation of performance packs.Fault diagnostics / Inspection and ability to determine “actual” cause of downtime / measure stoppage & carry out affective repair on a daily basis.Directly responsible for adhering to company safety procedures when performing tool/repair activity in machines or within the tool room.To minimise repetitive faults/repairs to company tooling through effective fault finding and problem solving.Minimise purchase cost of spares without compromising quality of repair.Take a positive and proactive approach to continuous improvement.
Skills & Experience:Time Served Apprenticeship. Worked within Automotive / Aerospace / plastic injection moulding environment for at least 5 years.Be able to read & understand hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, mechanical and tooling drawings.Have a sound hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic & mechanical knowledge (fault finding, maintenance etc).Basic machine shop knowledge.Able to work well unsupervised and demonstrate initiative.Confident dealing with individuals at all levels in the organisation.Highly motivated and enthusiastic with the ability to continuously improve the way they work.Able to prioritize own work, making choices between urgent and important and accepting responsibility for the outcomes.Numerically and literally competent.Computer literate, ability to use MS Office.Available to work weekends is essential.
