Graduate / Junior Underwriter
My client - the 'new kid on the block' in the world of alternative finance - is looking to hire a Credit Analyst/Underwriter to continue the expansion of this exciting and rapidly growing business.
Reporting directly to the Risk Director, the Credit Analyst/ Underwriter will be responsible for (including but not limited to):Performing credit analysis and underwriting for new loan applications and requests for renewals;Reviewing proposals received and ensuring all data is captured in line with underwriting procedures based on agreed SLA's;Assisting with monitoring credit performance of individual loans and portfolio management, using spreadsheet analysis tools together with your knowledge of accounting and finance to assess credit worthiness in an accurate and timely manner;Prepare thorough business cases that are clearly and concisely written and present conclusions and recommendations in compliance with the Company's underwriting guidelines and credit policy; andLiase with brokers and third party affiliates to provide ongoing support and communicate lending decisions to relevant parties.

The ideal candidate should therefore...Be a self-starter with drive, ambition and initiative;Be decisive in nature, but able to ask for help when unsure;Possess strong customer service skills;Have excellent Excel skills and strong attention to detail;Have a basic knowledge of commercial credit methods, underlying legal principles, procedures and techniques required to underwrite and administrate loans; and finallyPossess a degree in Economics, Finance, Analytics, or similar, or if not, then demonstrate solid, relevant work experience.

This role is a permanent position paying up to £25,000 dependent on experience. It is to be based in new offices just outside Banbury, with good rail and motorway links.
