Background

We need an Interim IT manager for a 3-6 month project to move our not for profit business forward. The business has its offices in Wolverhampton and has around 50 employees many of whom are mobile / home based. The business generates its income from business consultancy and a software division providing specialist services. The current situation is described below;

We have a number of legacy systems but have a general strategy to move towards cloud based solutions. We currently operate Sharepoint and Microsoft Office 365. Day to day IT support and fault fixing is currently provided by a third party company.

We want to maximise the benefit of our Sharepoint system which will include the migration of legacy data currently held on local servers. We have business users on MACs /drop box and wish to migrate this information to Sharepoint too.

We also need to develop a CRM and website with cross systems integration undertaken as necessary.

We are seeking an professional IT manager to take this project forward, develop and implement a plan and make recommendations to the Chief Executive over the implementation of the CRM and website, this to be done in consultation with the senior management team and system users

As ever within a small business, cost effectiveness is key as providing a strategy that is future proofed.

Key Responsibilities

-Assess our current websites, explore options and make recommendations for a combined website that promotes all areas of our business

-Review current operating systems and develop a plan to integrate these

-Review our various project and company storage requirements and develop a plan to migrate our current information to Sharepoint

-Work with key business contacts to understand our data and marketing requirements and make recommendations for a group CRM system

-Review how we populate our CRM with both existing data from a number of sizeable spreadsheets /our existing CRM and the merits of sourcing new business data. Make recommendations on how we ensure our data is cleansed /retained/stored

-Review current hardware and telephony systems, assess whether these are fit for purpose and make recommendations

-Work with our users and Management team to understand our business and help develop our IT Strategy

Knowledge & Experience

-Strong experience of managing the implementation of similar IT projects, with relevant Sharepoint and Microsoft Office 365 experience

-Proven experience of managing the scoping, selection and implantation of cost effective systems

-Significant experience of managing the development of SME website designed to draw in and capture new clients.

-A flexible approach to content management and the need to develop the site to reflect diversification of products and services

-Experience of working with senior managers in a small business and be comfortable with operating at that level

-Experience of working with an outsourced service provider and managing a small internal team

-Excellent communication skills

-Self starter with energy and enthusiasm

-Experience of Business Analysis

-Relevant Technical qualifications

This is an interim opportunity for around 6 months.
