Information Support Assistant

Serco are currently recruiting for an Information Support Assistant at RAF Valley. The role will involve working a 36 hour week, Monday- Thursday 08:00-16:15, Friday 08:00-16:00. The role will include support to the RAF Valley management in the execution of their duties.
Royal Air Force Valley or more simply RAF Valley is a Royal Air Force station on the island of Anglesey, Wales, and which is also used as Anglesey Airport. It provides fast-jet training using the BAE Systems Hawk and provides training for aircrew working with search and rescue.
Duties and responsibilitiesInformation management and administration, and all other iHub activities ensuring protocols, policies and standardisation adhered to.Support the implementation and advise on the Defence File PlanAdvise on use of electronic distribution lists in line with the Information Management (IM) planAssist with the administration for the RAF valley Intranet siteAssist with the administration for the RAF valley external internet siteManage electronic and physical documents, (including Classified Documents as appropriate) in line with the Unit IM planReceive, distribute and despatch information (both electronic and physical) in accordance with Unit IM PlanAdvise users on the advantages and capabilities of collaborative workingEnsure the transfer of Data between iHubs and Operational systemAdvise users on the site features of SharePointAdvise staff on the effective use of IT applications available to their DepartmentCarry out Local Security Officer (LSO) duties on DIIOperating alongside the customer, ensuring high level dedicated quality support and timely delivery of support to any assigned departments, monitoring work progress.Take a pro-active role within the Department; liaising with the customer and generally being fully conversant with the departmental aims and objectives.Work closely with other iHub staff to ensure standardisation and integration across the whole department.Active participation at meetings and production of action notes as required.Close liaison with the other departments/external agencies on site and off site as required
