International Delivery Director
The International Delivery Director (IDD) is responsible for the development, delivery and quality assurance of all international delivery (training, exercising and consultancy) for EPC. The IDD is focused on managing the day to day operational needs of the International business and its key stakeholders ensuring their requirements are delivered in accordance within the confines of all appropriate legislation and best practice.Key responsibilities will be to ensure the business meets or exceeds its commitments on academic excellence, assurance, profitability, levels of service, continuous improvement and growth. Achievement of these objectives will require effective and efficient utilisation of the skilled workforce, rigorous oversight of standards and practices, and timely and appropriate responses to, and anticipation of, the customer`s requirements.Key Duties:-Develop, agree and manage a robust in year and future years` plan that is aligned to the overall EPC strategy, but recognises the uniqueness of the International market. Work closely with the EPC BOM & International Account Director (IAD) to develop and implement a sustainable future operating strategy to align service delivery to continually meet customers` expectations in the appropriate markets. Work closely with the EPC BOM & IAD to drive the exploitation of organic growth for the business and new bid opportunities, providing expertise and leadership as required.Work closely with the IAD and fully coordinate international activity to ensure coherence and maximisation of growth potential.Provide leadership to the business such that employees understand and have input to plans, as appropriate, and are motivated to achieve their objectives. Undertake regular performance reviews such that all staff are clear about their role and responsibilities.Provide leadership, guidance and direction to the International Associate pool such that they are fully briefed on forthcoming development and delivery requirements. Convene bi-annual International Faculty seminars in order to consider Lessons Learned, brief future plans and coordinate Associate input accordingly.Conduct regular reviews of business plans, monitoring and taking action to ensure business targets are met, including submitting accurate and timely reports. Continuously drive operational efficiency and spread best practice across the business.Analyse the effectiveness of the International delivery and the required development of that programme to evolve the courses to meet the needs of the rapidly developing market. Design and deliver services (training, exercising and consultancy) to support the International business, at all levels from the operational to strategic, with the appropriate confidence, assurance, authority and credibility.Support the delivery of EPC curriculum and bespoke training activity for customers who require bespoke courses.Evaluate the impact and outcomes of service delivery maintaining quality and improvement with maximum value for money.Monitor, and adapt to, trends in the International market. Develop and maintain a network of effective relationships with the customer base, partners and other stakeholders in order to anticipate and deliver the customer`s existing and future needs.Assure the observance and continuance of Serco culture and values.
The ideal candidate will be a senior manager within a dynamic, complex, competitive and commercial environment with a prevailing culture of delivering leadership, business development, growth and delivery of projects. A strong understanding of UK Civil Contingency Act 2004 & International best practice, current UK and global resilience issues, mitigations and threats is key. You will have experience of developing and implementing training, consultancy and exercising strategies that ensure best practice framework is in place and the business remains at the leading edge of service delivery.You will demonstrate outstanding leadership skills, leading by example and demonstrating the Serco values and the Governing Principles.Proven experience of managing and motivating a team, communicating direction, developing best talent and capabilities.At least a degree-level education in a relevant discipline and, preferably, a post-graduate qualification in same.A training or education qualification or substantial appropriate experience.Significant, high-level experience in managing programmes of training, consultancy and exercise design and delivery, for a diverse customer base and in an international context.Empathetic trainer with demonstrable experience in an international client facing role and familiarity with adult learning methodologies.Commercial acumen with an entrepreneurial ethos and innovative approach. A track record of defining and delivering business plans to targets and milestones with sound financial management. Excellent communication skills and the ability to negotiate with clients at high level and create & maintain effective, durable relationships with diverse sets of stakeholders and customers.Ability to operate in a flexible, organised, consistent and committed mannerCapable of working calmly and accurately under pressure to strict deadlinesDesirable:-Degree level training or education qualification, ideally postgraduate in same.Experience of training delivery in the international market, particularly the Middle East.Competent in a second language (preferably Arabic).
