Agricultural/ Farming Technical Assistant
Fantastic opportunity to join a well established company based in Newbury, our client is looking for a Agricultural/ Farming Technical Assistant to join the team on a permanent basis, starting ASAP and paying £18,000 to £20,000. This is an exciting and unique role within our recommendations team, which helps our farmer customers determine the correct fertiliser rate across a field for optimum performance. As a technical assistant, you will process and provide fertiliser recommendations to customers. An interest in or passion for agriculture and farming would be a distinct advantage, although full training can be provided for the right candidate. Duties will include but are not limited to:- Accurate processing of customer's cropping plans using in-house, bespoke software - Converting and processing data using third party farming software - Calculating nutrient inputs - Production of fertiliser application maps and spreading files for customers and the Sales Team - Use of MS Office packages to manipulate and format data - Troubleshooting problems with application files - Phoning customers and agronomists to obtain information - Answering customer queries by phone and email - Resolving customer and Sales Team queries in a timely manner via phone and email The ideal candidate:- Strong customer focus - Ability to communicate at every level - Effective written and oral communication skills - Possess a confident and professional telephone manner - Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and the Internet. - Proven attention to detail - Proven ability to solve problems - Ability to work on own initiative, making decisions, managing own workload and time, whilst developing effective and supportive relationships with colleagues and customers Desirable but not essential as training can be provided; - A working knowledge of the use of fertilisers in arable farming - A practical knowledge of the use of RB209 - FACTS qualified or equivalent Do you have the required skills and experience required?
