It is also home of HQ SAR Force, the Search & Rescue Arm of the RAF. Serco currently operates a Multi-Activity Contract which provides Logistics and non-aircraft support engineering services to the flying programme in addition to other administration services on-station.The Receipt and Dispatch Supplier is specifically responsible to the Stock Holding Groups Chargehand.Responsibilities: - All matters relating to the support and administration of sections within the supply department. Unpacking and checking consignments against accompanying paperwork.- Packing equipment and raising appropriate documentation for consignments by road, sea, air and post.- Placing and progressing orders using computerised and manual systems.- Preparing and progressing, linking and filing paperwork associated with the movement of equipment.- Effecting issues from and receipts into stores.- Operate computer systems as required and with the appropriate training.- Exercise control of tools.- Carry out the role of Duty Supplier.- Control equipment with a classification of valuable and attractive items.- Carry out procedures involving the V.I.T.A.L. system and ensure correct procedures for incoming and outgoing consignments.- Implement correct procedures in the handling of Hazardous consignments.- Implementing correct procedures in the handling of mechanical lifting aids: Forklift and maintaining weekly pre-start checks for the forklift.- You will, from time to time, be required to undertake additional duties and responsibilities of a similar nature in other related locations that fall within your capabilities and experience as directed by your Line Manager.- Assure the maintenance of all section equipment where applicable.- Implementing the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) within his/her areas of responsibility.- The continual monitoring and the review of Risk and COSHH assessments relative to the areas of his/her responsibility.- Where nominated, undertake the duties of Building Custodian; alternatively, ensure requests for work service repairs and maintenance are reported to the nominated building custodian.- Such other duties and responsibilities as may be delegated by senior management.- You are to familiarize yourself with the Serco Management System and understand your role in the system. In particular, you are to be aware of the procedures concerning the identification and prevention of problems and you are to be prepared to suggest changes to working procedures which are aimed at improving the service provided by Serco.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:- Good written, numeracy and communication skills. - Full UK Category B (car) driving licence preferred. - Computer literate. - Counterbalance forklift licence preferred. - Focused and customer driven. - Good interpersonal skills.- Warehouse/Stores experience preferred.
